Some very well done annotations to use as examples:
**Please notice how these Contributors have annotated the majority of the text (minimal white space) and have included and activity with a tutorial.
**We are targeting a first year undergraduate audience
- write your content to this level
- when in doubt, write for an audience below this level
Choosing a paper:
- a relatively recent (2012-2015) Science Research Article or Report (no reviews or news articles)
- “newsy,” in that the paper was featured somehow in media outlets
- “relatable,” in that it can be something students can place into context of their studies (first year undergraduate level)
- most people choose a paper in the field they are studying, but this is not a requirement
Title:
- short and catchy, this will show up on the home page: http://scienceintheclassroom.org/
- the goal is to get students curious about reading the paper
Editor’s Introduction:
- brings the research into a context the students can appreciate and/or relate to
- the goal is to have students relate to the content and want to keep reading the full research paper
